Abstract

Life skills are a skill that every individual has, life skills can be in the form of social skills, vocational skills and individual life skills. With good life skills, individuals can properly develop their potential. Conversely, if an individual has low life skills, the individual will have difficulty developing himself to be better. This study aims to determine the process, effectiveness, and constraints in the process of implementing behavioral-emotive rational counseling on students' life skills which include aspects of personal, social, academic, and vocational skills at Progressive Junior High School Zainul Ulum Malang. This research is a quantitative research with a pre-experimental design with the type of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of this study included class VIII students at Progressive Middle School Zainul Malang who would be given an instrument in the form of a questionnaire that had gone through the validation test stage by experts for further sample selection. The result of this research is that rational emotive behavior counseling is effective in improving students' life skills at Progressive Middle School Zainul Malang. This is evidenced by the calculation results of the pretest and posttest data analysis.
