Abstract

Self-awareness is an aspect that has a significant influence on the achievement of educational goals itself. Self-Awareness is knowing your motivations, beliefs, and personality and understanding how these factors can influence your self-assessment, decisions, and interactions with others. Counseling Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is a methodological technique that helps solve problems caused by problematic thought patterns. The design of this study used a pre-experimental design with one pretest group. The population in this study were students of class XI TKJ 1 and XI TKJ 2 SMKN totaling 72 students. The sample used was six students in the experimental group. The instrument used in this study was an inventory of self-awareness and the implementation of individual counseling with the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) counseling technique. Based on the results of the data analysis, it is known that the post-test results are better than the pretest. The mean (mean) of the pretest results was 55.0, and the average (mean) of the post-test results was 77.50, which showed a significant increase. The analysis results using the Wilcoxon Matched-pairs Signed Test are known as Asym.Sig. (2-tails) is 0.024. Because the value of 0.024 is smaller or smaller than (< ) 0.05, it can be concluded that "Ha" is accepted, which means that there is a difference between the results of the pretest and post-test, so it can be concluded that "rational counseling techniques for emotive behavior therapy are effective for increasing self-awareness on students."
